Author, pilot, fencer and bonafide rock god Bruce
Dickinson turns broadcaster on Saturday nights to present the 6
Music Rock Show.
If anyone knows and lives rock music, it's Bruce - almost certainly
the only 6 Music DJ to have headlined Rock in Rio! Join the Iron
Maiden front man for three hours of the latest and greatest in hard
rock - from thrash metal to punk, classics to obscurities.
Since Smooth Operations were awarded the commission for the Rock
Show in summer 2006, esteemed guests have included thrash legends
Slayer, the all-conquering Mastodon and Floridian metalcorers Trivium,
not to mention Machine Head, Megadeth, Deftones, Stone Sour, Supersuckers,
Less Than Jake and Dragonforce.
Tune in via DAB, digital TV or online to hear the show, which also
features archive sessions and is produced by Ian Callaghan, who
produces Bruce's Masters of Rock series for BBC Radio 2.
Get involved! Submit your favourite rock cover version (Evil Twin),
the song that defines metal for you (All Men Play On Ten), or three
monster tunes with a common theme (Three The Hard Way).
Visit Bruce's
BBC 6 Music Showpage for more information including playlists,
message board and listeners' gallery, and to listen to the latest
show online.
