Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show! hit the airways of BBC Radio
4 in late December 2005 to huge critical acclaim.
The series hears a confused and muddled 'day in the life' of the
one time Variety Star, Count Arthur Strong, from the mystery of
the missing cauliflower to a book signing at a butcher's shop. An
expert in everything from the world of entertainment to the origins
of the species, everyday life with Arthur is an enlightening and
entertaining experience
The series was commissioned following a string of guest appearances
on BBC Radio 2's Mark Radcliffe Show by Count Arthur. A Komedia
Entertainment and Smooth Operations production, the shows are produced
by Mark Radcliffe himself. Initially broadcast in Radio 4's 11.30am
slot, the first six-part series of Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show!
received a second airing in the 6.30pm comedy slot in March 2006.
The first two series are now available on CD from Komedia
Entertainment.
A Christmas special and second series of Count Arthur Strong's
Radio Show! were recorded live in autumn 2006 and spring 2007 at
Komedia Brighton. The series aired on Radio 4 in March and April
2007 and was repeated in November 2007. Series three was recorded
from September to November 2007 and was broadcast from 24 December
2007.
Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show! is written by Steve Delaney,
edited by Graham Duff and produced by John Leonard and Mark Radcliffe.
The cast features Sue Perkins, Alastair Kerr and Dave Mounfield,
and special guests have included Barry Cryer and Terry Kilkelly.
Count Arthur also featured in ITV's Comedy
Cuts, a comedy show that highlights the cream of the next comic
generation through stand-up and sketches. The series aired on ITV2
in January 2007 and there's a highlights show planned for ITV1.
He also featured in Music Hall Meltdown recorded live at the Clapham
Grand, part of BBC4's Edwardian Season in Spring 2007.
